Charles Wilson Road goes from the crossroads on Rochester Hallow to Camp Brook Road, just bellow Rochester Gap. On the Rochester Hallow side, you can connect to Mount Cushman, Rochester Mountain, or Thresher Road.
Charles Wilson Road is a nice ride, with its share of mud, ledge, and rock. A good challenge, but nothing that will give you white knuckles. Most of the trail was used for logging, probably within the last 5 years. Many of the improvements made to the road, like culverts and water bars, have now become obstacles, but who says that's a bad thing.
All the way up this trail there are less traveled trails. The only one that I have explored so far comes out onto Chamberlain Road. That trail cuts off just before the logging bridge that you get to on the way up.
After you get over the ledge, the trail straitens out and has been cut into the hill about 4 feet. At the top is where the logging was done and provides a good view of Rochester Mountain. The rest of the trail could be traveled by car, so you would be better off turning around and going back down.

The truck has been moved out of the way. Went up with Mt. Cushman again. Took they Scott up to show him how the Monty handle's. I bought the rig from him and he was quite impressed by what it can do.
