Thresher Road connects the end of Gilead Road in Bethel, VT with Rochester Hallow. This road is a good beginner road. Most of it could be traveled with a normal 2WD truck, but there is usually a good deal of mud on the Rochester Hallow side that you can have fun in.
The lower (Gilead) is used by tractors and is fairly smooth for the first half mile. You then go over a small hill and then the road becomes a small stream. The water has washed away most of the sand so this section of the road is very rocky. Once you get to the top the road gets muddy for about a hundred yards. The puddles are deep so you may scrub the bottom of your rig if you have low clearance, but you would have trouble getting stuck in anything but a car.
While this road is not that much of a challenge, its still a great trail to hit at the end of the day either on the way home from work or on your way to go up Mount Cushman or Rochester Mountain, Charles Wilson Road also starts at the end of Thresher Road.

The trail was washed out at the begining of the Month and is now not passable by anything 2WD. I think you could probably still make it with a stock 4x4 if you are careful.
